As some of you know, we spend our evenings with Alfie activities. He is currently learning Scent work and doing quite well, here is a picture taken the other week when it absolutely heaved down, at least I had wet gear on but Steve was soaked. Seen here is Alfie following a scent trail, which he is doing well at. Before that he played search the person, Steve went and hid a way off and over an embankment whilst we didnt let Alfie look. He found him by scent working ground.

We did this searching the person on Monday night too, with a further distance and looking for Malcom his trainer rather than Steve, Alfie passed this one too Looking forward to the lighter nights when tbh it will be a bit more fun than freezing to bits out there.

He also does obediance training and Agility, got some shows booked for this too - needs a bit more practice yet though.

Well done Alfie
He's obviously very intelligent! All the work you're doing with him is paying off, what a difference!
Maybe we should have done that with Paddy, but his nose is hopeless!

xx

At the moment, Alfie and 3 pals are learning to follow a trail, either left by food with a fun toy at the end, or to 'find' a person or another dog, this is done by ground and air scent work.

In time we are hoping the team will learn to be able to find lost dogs.
Our fab tutor has done a lot of research in how to achieve this, but of course like everything it cant be taught overnight, will take a lot of time and training to achieve.

Well done. I am sure Alfie will benefit no end.
Am a bit worried about Steve though. The way Alfie is sniffing round him I am not totally convinced it is rain on Steve's trousers!
