..or is the world really full of dog haters? not to mention small minded inbeceles (sorry cant spell)
Here is a thread on my local town dipstick forum, as you will see the cycle people and the council are about to totally ruin my dog walk, for which people have been using for over 40 years to walk their dogs in peace. I try to draw attention to this and drum up some support and this is the response given Not only that they dont give a hoot about wildlife either.

I know what you mean you've got to remember that these people spend all there time sitting behind a PC,and wouldn't even know about path because they never venture that far. It's such a shame and a waste of money but reckon it's a done deal and some wallet has been lined.

Nope it's not you Lynda, looks like a lot of biased people on there! (imbeciles) Some good points made towards the end there and by yourself Most dog owners love animals and therefore care about wildlife and the environment, I know I do.
I don't think creating a cycling path through a natural environment like Dunes is a good idea, have you ever tried braking on sand? It's lethal!! What will happen when the sand shifts (like it does) and as for children......I wouldn't be encouraging children to hang around dunes, lots of hiding places for paedos!
This has reminded me that I must dig out our local papers from last week and reply to it. Someone wrote " what is it about owners of large dogs...." and went on to complain about all the dog s**t that isn't placed in the numerous bins provided. They went on to say that their small dog makes litle mess rthat's not worth picking up but they do so anyway. (yeah, right!) Errrr.... that should be SMALL dog owners as where we live its all the small dog s**t off the poncey dogs whose poncey owners CBA picking up. Also there's only ONE dog bin on the prom near us and it's never emptied.
Very soon there will be nowhere for people to exercise their dogs, it's getting ridiculous!! Sorry, you got me ranting now too!
xx

Thats what has got me so angry Lorrain, the fact that wallets have been lined. Trying to think of a celebrity we could enlist??
Di - I often wonder if some of these people are for real

Sorry A.M, I see we posted at the same time there.
Glad its not just me thats a grumpy old woman I have just spent my time emailing all the Natterjack Toad Conservationists I can find, not giving up without a fight.
As for dog poo, as you can see its a very popular subject in Southport, we often appeal for more bins too but are told they are 'adequate', on a street walk you can walk a very long way clutching said bag, little wonder many dont bother.

Thanks Liz, seems not much any of us can do now. I have contacted just about everyone I can think of, as have many of the other walkers. Right now I need the patience to ignore the rest of the idiots on that thread, who it seems cannot follow a simple topic without going off on their own agenda. I have to revert to my own motto atm, "If you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all" But lets hope out of the 298 views it has had, maybe some of them might support us on the qt.

The thread now has 600 views, so quite happy that I have at least got some publicity out there, also gained a few more signatures whilst out there today. Wont hold my breath though as it is looking like its a forgon, but at least we have tried.
Shame the Natterjacks wont know their way to the designated breeding ground that is protected, maybe I should go teach them to read? Also going to be shame for the amount of tree's that will be destroyed to build said path.
